Welcome to Liebhunde Danes, we are located in Trinity, NC.

We bought our first Harlequin Great Dane in 1974 from some local folks who had a litter of Great Danes advertised in the paper. His name was Ojoes de Diabalo (eyes of the devil). He had the most piercing blue eyes you have ever seen it was as through he could see right into you heart and soul. He turned out to be a fabulous pet and a beloved member of our household. When we started a family he was great with the babies and toddlers He passed away before our children could remember him. Through the years we never forgot him or how wonderful the breed was and frequently talked about him with our children. Time passed and when our youngest child started college, he decided that he would like to get a Great Dane. Since he was a commuter living at home another Dane came into our lives and hearts, his name was Thor, and what a mighty dog he was. Needless to say the dane bug bit us again and we decided to look for a harlequin for ourselves (Thor was a black) We found and purchased our first show harlequin puppy in 1999, Ch. Harlwood Bubba’s Amazing Grace. Then we were really hooked and still are. We continue to adore the breed and are especially partial to the harlequins and mantles. We do however co-own a beautiful fawn girl named Ellie who is an up and coming star in the show ring (Lost Creeks & DaneLane Let"s Gossip). While we continue to take immense pleasure from the breed and our personal dogs our goal is to maintain a breeding program producing quality dogs that will bring enjoyment and pleasure to others.
